MY WEEK AT VERVE – LILA MARCHANT.

Last week at Verve, we had the pleasure of welcoming a special guest to the team, Lila Marchant, who joined us for a week of work experience. Lila, in her first year of A-Levels jumped right in and got stuck into all sorts of activities, including creating our Tik Tok channel and recording a couple of videos. One of her main tasks? Writing a blog to give us all an inside look at what it’s like to spend a week at Verve. You can read all about her experience below.

“Coming into this experience, I did not realise how much I would take away from my week at Verve. When I first came into the office, whilst admittedly I was slightly anxious, the atmosphere in the office was instantly welcoming, and everyone I met made me feel at ease and excited for the week ahead.

Upon arrival, I spoke to Verve’s MD, Dom, who kindly gave me this opportunity, and he spoke to me about what Verve is and how the office day-to-day works. By this point, I could tell that this week was going to be not only productive, but also enjoyable, providing an experience of the workplace whilst also offering the chance to meet new people and learn new skills. When I spoke to the team about their roles within the company, seeing how proud and interested they were in their work was truly inspiring.   

Something that particularly impressed me at Verve was their values regarding skills outside of what their everyday work may require. For example, throughout the week I was able to sit through presentation sessions, set up by Jules, to improve colleague’s public speaking expertise whilst also presenting a topic that resonated with them. Throughout everyone’s presentations, I could clearly see the different personalities in the room and felt as though everyone understood one another slightly better than before, whilst also benefitting from new skills which would help them in the future. 

From start to finish, my time at Verve has been brilliant. I’m especially grateful for the support of Liv, Verve’s copywriter, whose creativity and kindness made each day even more enjoyable, and to Dom and Paul, whose thoughtfulness and organisation made the whole experience feel so smooth and meaningful. 

Thank you for such a memorable week, I’ve learnt so much and truly loved every moment.

CHARLIE’S INTERN EXPERIENCE
Six months ago, I joined Verve as an intern in their Optical team, with a background in marketing and campaign management but no prior experience in the healthcare industry. What started as a leap into the unknown has turned into a rewarding experience, opening my eyes to a whole new industry and leading me to step into a new role as Account Executive (spoiler alert!).
